We are currently looking to recruit time-served stonemasons with Rope Access qualifications for work in and around Edinburgh and The Lothians.

Duties:

• Carry out conservation and routine maintenance works
• Raking out and pointing defective joints and beds
• Mortar skew replacement and installations
• Stone profile rebuilding
• Lime work and pointing
• Stonework rebuilds and alterations
• Stone repairs and pointing utilizing Rope Access

The right candidate will have:

Skills

• Traditional masonry
• Stone cutting
• Hewing of various architectural mouldings and stones
• Confident at performing minor stone repairs whilst on ropes

Experience

Must have experience in masonry restoration works, heritage works, lime mortar pointing, stone dressing, cut out and intent.

• General building and maintenance knowledge
• Undertaking various minor stonework repairs off ropes or working in fall restraint positions

Location

We conduct stone work in and around Edinburgh and the Lothians, therefore the primary location for work will be on site.

Qualifications

• Time-served stonemason
• CSCS card (preferrable)
• IRATA Level 1 or 2

Our Rope Access Technicians undertake work on all property types, so it is essential that Rope Access technicians have experience working on tenement buildings, commercial buildings, office and retail parks.

Work Schedule

Our work day is typically 8 hours, but this may extend due to operational reasons. In this case, technicians are compensated for every hour thereafter.

Our technicians are of the highest calibre and highly sought after in their field of experience. Therefore we are looking for multi-skilled IRATA qualified Level 3s to join our expanding company and help us deliver unrivalled services to our customers.

Roles & Responsibilities

As the Level 3 on site, you will be tasked with delivering work in a safe and professional manner. Both inline with SAT working at height procedures and IRATA ICOP.

You will be working with both small and larger teams and mostly in an autonomous role. Thus the requirement for a professional Level 3 with exceptional interpersonal communication skills for dealing with customers.

Duties

• To ensure that all Rope Access operations conducted on site are carried out efficiently and safely at all times and in accordance with SAT company and statutory regulations and procedures. 
• Supervise and direct all Rope Access personnel, ensuring that operational efficiency is maintained at all times. Including the implementation of the appropriate Health and Safety Standards, Rope Access quality control in accordance with SAT operating procedures.
• Be proactive in the continuous improvement of safe systems and methods of work.
• Promote SAT business interests by maintaining close contact with existing customers and develop new relationships with potential customers.
• Ensuring the correct maintenance of Rope Access equipment whilst on site. 
• Ensure certification is kept up to date by liaising with the Rope Access Department
• Upon completion of projects, ensure all equipment is cleaned, separated and manifested to ensure nothing is missing.
• Rope Access paperwork that has been provided for the project will be read, filled out, signed and understood by all team members. Completed paperwork will be sent back to the operations department upon completion of the project.
• Any timesheets or client work sheets will be signed weekly and submitted to the Operations Department
• Ensure constant communication between the teams and the customers so they are always aware of what work is being conducted
• Assist the technicians with any work required that is within your qualifications or skill set
• Undertake any other duties that are of a reasonable natures as required by SAT Management
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with SAT Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality of Work Systems
• Ensure delivered work is of the highest standards so that the objectives of SAT are met every time.
• Attend client meetings and liaise with management during the planning of tasks or or organizing period. 
• Attend any meetings directly involved in the Rope Access operations being conducted by SAT teams

Qualifications 

In order for Level 3s to perform the job successfully, an applicant should demonstrate the following competencies: 

• GCSE level in English and Math
• Excellent knowledge of Rope Access Procedures and Disciplines
• Reliable, honest and effective team player with outstanding communication skills
• Ability to follow and uphold company policies and procedures at all times
• IRATA Level 3 qualification
• Current First Aid Certificate

Location

We conduct Rope Access operations in and around Edinburgh and the Lothians. Thus experience on working on all buildings and properties is a requirement. 

Rates

We are currently recruiting IRATA Level 3 technicians on a contract basis and offer highly competitive rates. Rates are discussed upon interview and based on experience.

SAT are currently looking to recruit Rope Access roofers for work in and around Edinburgh and the Lothians. We are a fast paced and dynamic Rope Access company and are keen to expand our team of highly sought after Rope Access slaters for upcoming projects. 

Typical tasks will include localized repairs to roofs and slates. Most of the time ladder access and flat roofs allow for access, however there are requirements for rope access related repairs. Thus the importance of having at a minimum IRATA Level 1 Rope Access certification. 

You will be working normally with smaller teams on projects and most of the time in an autonomous role. Therefore exceptional interpersonal skills with customers is a must.
